Food Safe provides expert-led Food Safety Certificate training and internal auditing solutions for food safety compliance in New Zealand.

Food Safe approached us with an old, unresponsive website and booking system for a much needed rebuild! Ease of use for staff and visitors, while retaining the SEO value of the historical content of the Food Safe site and intuitive site design features were our key priorities throughout this development project.

Our Solution

We built a powerful new website for Food Safe, taking advantage of the extensive functionality of the WordPress content management system. This functionality allowed us to build 301 redirects to preserve the SEO of the existing Food Safe content, integrate social platforms, Google Maps and Reviews, and build contact forms and push-to-talk phone functions into the site. Food Safe wanted to utilise a full-service booking system, so we customised the popular Events Calendar plugin and eWay/Stripe payment gateways to make the booking process for training and auditing as seamless as possible.

In order to give the site a more contemporary look, we also performed a brand revamp for Food Safe. The result is a more modern-looking logo and colour scheme that still conveys a feeling of authenticity and capability. We were able to use this branding to its full potential on the website by incorporating clean, simple design elements with some interesting user experience features!

The new Food Safe site empowers staff to easily update content, and users to explore the vast bank of informational resources provided. We are proud to have delivered a better online experience for everyone involved in the Food Safe journey.
